1. About Literal Sounds Labs

2. Acceptance of these Terms
By using the website or downloading, installing, activating or purchasing any Literal Sounds Labs product, you agree to these Terms and to any product-specific licence file supplied with the software. If you do not agree, do not use or install the software.
You must be legally able to enter into a contract in your country. If you use a product for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. Website and product information
We aim to keep descriptions, compatibility information, prices and download links accurate. Audio software depends on operating systems, DAWs, plugin formats, drivers and third-party components, so compatibility cannot be guaranteed for every configuration.
Product pages may be updated as features, builds and supported platforms change. Screenshots, demonstrations and audio examples are illustrative and may differ slightly from the current release.
4. Free products, trials and paid licences
Free products may be used without payment, subject to the supplied licence. Trial versions are provided for evaluation and may be time-limited or feature-limited. Circumventing trial restrictions, activation limits or licence checks is prohibited.
A paid purchase grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the relevant software. Unless a product page or licence states otherwise, ownership of the software and all intellectual-property rights remains with Literal Sounds Labs.
5. Permitted use
You may install and use the software on the number of devices allowed by the product licence or activation system. You may use the software in commercial and non-commercial music, sound-design, audiovisual, performance, broadcast and installation work.
You retain ownership of music and other original content you create with the software. No royalties are owed to Literal Sounds Labs for finished creative work produced using the plugins.
6. Prohibited use
You must not:
- sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute or publicly share the software, licence key or download package;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- remove copyright, branding, licence or attribution notices;
- use another person’s licence key or attempt to defeat activation, trial or device limits;
- use the website or software for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent or security-compromising activity.
7. Purchases and payment
Paid licences are sold through Payhip and its payment providers. The checkout page shows the applicable price, currency, taxes and payment terms before purchase. Payhip or the payment provider may process billing details and issue transaction records.
Literal Sounds Labs does not directly receive or store full card details. A purchase is complete when the payment platform confirms it and the licence or purchase confirmation is issued.
8. Downloads, installation and backups
You are responsible for checking system requirements, downloading the correct macOS or Windows package and following the installation guide. Keep a secure copy of your licence information and purchased installer where appropriate.
Unsigned or non-notarised builds may require additional operating-system approval steps. Installation guidance is provided, but you remain responsible for maintaining suitable backups before installing or updating software.
9. Updates and changes
We may release maintenance updates, compatibility updates, feature changes or replacement builds. Unless expressly promised, there is no obligation to provide a particular feature, format, platform version or update indefinitely.
We may discontinue a product or platform build. Where reasonably possible, existing customers will be given access to the latest available compatible version.
10. Support
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis through the Contact page or support email. Please include the product name, operating system, DAW, plugin format, version number and a clear description of the problem.
Support does not include third-party DAW training, operating-system repair, hardware configuration unrelated to the product, or custom development unless separately agreed.
11. Availability and warranties
The website and software are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation or compatibility with every current or future computer, host or third-party product.
Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory guarantees or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. Any additional warranties are limited to those expressly stated on the relevant product page or required by applicable law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Literal Sounds Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost projects, lost recordings, data loss or downtime arising from use or inability to use the website or software.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount paid for the affected product, except where applicable law requires otherwise. You should test plugins in a safe environment and keep backups of sessions, presets and important files.
13. Intellectual property
The website, plugin code, interface designs, documentation, logos, names, text, images and other original materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted except the limited rights expressly described in these Terms and the product licence.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend download or activation access where there is credible evidence of fraud, chargeback abuse, licence sharing, security misuse or a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.
After termination, you must stop using and distributing the affected software, subject to any mandatory rights under applicable law.
15. Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Courts in Portugal will have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law provides another forum.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under Portuguese or European Union consumer law.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the products, website, payment systems or legal requirements. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date. Material changes will not retroactively remove rights already granted under a completed purchase.
